LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that will check webpages you are browsing for any links to articles or eBooks that your chosen libraries have access to. What this means is that when you are researching a topic on a website like Wikipedia and you scroll down to their cited sources, some of those sources will be tagged with the “LibKey Nomad” icon. Clicking the icon will route you to a PDF of that article through the library. This will prompt you to log in with your Shasta College student ID if you are not already logged in, and doing so will give you free access.
LibKey Nomad browser extension delivers one-click article access
As the video link above demonstrates, this extension can be used to save a lot of time sifting through articles and eBooks when trying to determine what you can use without having to pay. You should never pay money to complete college assignments, so be sure to download LibKey Nomad to find those free journal articles with ease!
In Google Scholar, selecting the ViewIt@ShastaCollege link will check for the article in our database. The extension will tell you if we do not have access to it so you can move on to a different article or email us the article information, to see if we can acquire it for you.
The library pays for access to many journal articles and eBooks for your use, and now you can find them even when searching through Google Scholar or Wikipedia.
